We are The Akshaya Patra Foundation, a not-for-profit organisation headquartered in Bengaluru, India, implementing the PM POSHAN (Mid-Day Meal Programme) initiative. Every school day, we serve nutritious meals to 2.35 million children studying in government and government-aided schools across 16 States and 3 Union Territories. For over 25 years, we have been driven by a simple yet powerful vision: No child in India shall be deprived of education because of hunger. In pursuit of this vision, we have cumulatively served over 5 billion meals, helping children come to school nourished and ready to learn. Our work extends beyond school meals to include the Morning Nutrition Programme, Anganwadi Feeding Programme, MEAAL – School Rejuvenation Initiative, Giving Every Dream a Chance mentorship initiative, AVSAR Scholarship Programme, Akshaya Patra Alumni Network (AAN) and disaster relief feeding, enabling us to support children and communities through every stage of their journey. From automated kitchens and technology-enabled supply chains to renewable energy, electric delivery vehicles and resource-efficient practices, we continuously innovate to deliver nutritious meals with quality, safety and efficiency. The BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha (BAPS), a worldwide socio-spiritual organization in Consultative Status with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations, is dedicated to community service, peace and harmony. Motivated by Hindu principles, BAPS strives to care for the world by caring for societies, families and individuals. Through a number of social and spiritual activities, BAPS endeavors to produce better citizens of tomorrow who have a high esteem for their roots - their rich Hindu culture. Its 9,000 international centers, including more than 5,000 youth centers, support these activities of character-building.
