GMAAC Information

GMAAC (Georgia Mutual Assistance Association Consortium, Inc.) is a nonprofit organization founded in 1984 to address the needs of the people in the various refugee communities as they start a new life in the United States. GMAAC,s objective is to build stronger diverse communities by facilitating the social, emotional adjustment, and cultural transition of refugees and immigrants throughout the Metropolitan Atlanta area. GMAAC,s main goals include: Providing refugees and immigrants with basic transitional and self-development services that inform them of various aspects of life in the U.S. Advocating for the needs and aspiration of refugees in all public and private organizations. Fostering an awareness of the presence and contributions of refugee and immigrant groups in the community at-large. Encourage the maintenance of refugee and immigrant communities. GMAAC provides assistance in understanding and accessing a broad range of social services. We have been devoted to improve the lives of refugee families by providing various services such as: Case management Translation and interpretation services Preventative education Assistance to prospective homebuyers Youth programs Refugee parent outreach program Health promotion Life-coping skills Cross-cultural assistance Referral Emergency assistance
