Global Market Drivers has a history dating back to 1982 when an early version of the product was developed for traders and brokerage firm executives on the floor of the Chicago Board of Trade. Since that time, the company has greatly expanded into many more markets and has acquired an elite institutional client base that includes many of the world's top banks and investment management professionals. Global Market Drivers is an independent institutional research firm and does not conduct brokerage activity or manage customer money. The Global Market Drivers daily research report is written and edited by the company's founder and CEO, Richard Asplund. Richard has been covering the global equity, fixed income, currency and commodity markets on daily basis for the last three decades. Richard is an economist and market strategist with an MBA degree (in finance, economics, and statistics) cum laude from the University of Chicago's Booth Graduate School of Business. Richard also has a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering from the University of Minnesota-Minneapolis. Early in his career in the 1980s, Richard was a Chicago Board of Trade member and a successful trader in the CBOT's 30-year T-Bond futures pit, which at the time was the largest futures trading pit in the world. Richard is the author of "Profiting from Clean Energy" (Wiley, 2008) and is the contributing author of "The CRB Commodity Yearbook" (Wiley, 2003 through 2015) and "The CRB Encyclopedia of Commodity and Financial Prices" (Wiley, 2006, 2009, 2014). Richard has been interviewed on CNBC, Bloomberg TV, Japanese NHK TV, and National Public Radio, and has been quoted in print publications such as Dow Jones, Reuters, USA Today, Newsweek and others.
