Collecting good field data is an art. We are the Michelangelo of field data, except much faster. We found the best teams, gave them the best tools, and the best training. Start to finish, bottom to top, we can collect just about any information you could possibly want to know about your system. When Global Mapping Solutions first started collecting data, we looked and looked for the best field data collection tools we could find. None of them were right though. So we made our own tools. FMGPS was developed out of the need to streamline the data collection process without sacrificing accuracy or adaptability. The result is accurate field data, faster. FMGPS creates data in an ESRI database format that is extremely flexible and can easily be added to any GIS system. It links up with survey grade Trimble ™ GPS Receivers to provide sub-meter accuracy with differential correction in real-time, no post-processing required. That means you get better data faster. While we’re out there, standing under the wires, we create all the geometric networks to fully capture what is on going on. The service meters are connected to their proper transformer and, via you CIS system, we link the meter with the service location. We take high-resolution pictures that get geo-tagged to the point, letting you sit in the office and see what was on that pole without having to take a field trip.
