The Global Education Network (GEN) is a collaboration of premier post-secondary education institutions formed to enhance the employability of students through global education and cultural exchange. GEN provides a variety of study abroad options, work and collaborative project opportunities for students exposing them to the global market. In 2001 GEN was designed by Box Hill Institute in collaboration with Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) in Calgary, Canada. Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, USA joined the Global Education Network in 2004, and the Institute of Technical Education, Singapore joined in 2006.
