Global BioDiagnostics Corp. (GBD) is a biotechnology company founded in 2009 to develop, manufacture and sell innovative, low-cost, rapid diagnostics for infectious diseases that are suitable for use in all countries of the world. This requires us to focus our design on meeting the needs of resource constrained healthcare environments found in the high-growth areas of Central, Southeast and East Asia, Africa and other growing markets around the world. Our products in development for tuberculosis (TB) are breakthrough in nature and have the potential to improve the lives of millions of people a year by bringing low-cost, easy-to-use, rapid TB diagnostics out of the lab and much nearer to the people who NEED diagnostic tests, but do not have ACCESS to advanced laboratory capabilities. Commercialization and product development of our TB diagnostic technology is proceeding through a co-development agreement with the Foundation for Innovative New Diagnostics (FIND) based in Geneva, Switzerland. Dr. Mark Perkins, Chief Scientific Officer of FIND, has said "GBD’s technology offers real potential for the development of a test with utility in peripheral health settings. Extension of simple and sensitive diagnostics to this level of the health system, close to where patients first seek care, would be a great breakthrough in TB diagnosis."
