Founded in 2015, the GIVE ME 5 Campaign is a global grassroots campaign to raise awareness about the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Specifically, this initiative seeks to route public and private investments towards the implementation of the SDGs. The aim is to create pressure on global leaders to prioritize Sustainable Development. Among many other things, this means investing more in peace, development, and human rights and less in special interests and unsustainable practices. Why the Give Me 5 Campaign? Our global society needs to shift substantive resources toward sustainable development if we are to ensure the well-being of people and planet by the year 2030. Through our partnership with the United Nations, we can house the trillions of dollars in funds needed to fuel this transition, and redirect every penny back to where it came from, but with a new focus on fulfilling the needs of each participating nation state. “With only 5% of global military spending we could eradicate poverty forever and transition from fossil fuels to renewable energy…” lets say: GIVE ME 5!
