GITEP SCITT Information

GITEP SCITT is a unique collaboration between schools in Gloucestershire and the surrounding area who work together to offer a school-centred teacher training programme. Our training is dominantly school based but we also believe strongly that our trainees should have the time to develop subject expertise and an understanding of theoretical aspects of education. Professional studies weeks throughout the year, with lectures and workshops led by expert speakers, support the training in schools. Trainees from our partnership schools meet as subject groups every Thursday with subject leaders who are also serving teachers. GITEP works in partnership with the University of Bristol at secondary level and the University of Gloucestershire at primary level to offer the academic PGCE. We offer flexible routes in all subjects for those wishing to complete the course part-time.
