GirlUp Mississauga Information

We are GirlUp Mississauga, one of the chapters for the United Nations Foundation Campaign called GirlUp. Our chapter was started by our current chapter president, Abeer Sabz Ali. GirlUp Mississauga strives to make advances towards gender equality by putting importance in education to drive social change. GirlUp itself was founded in 2010 by the United Nations Foundation, GirlUp seeks to support women and girls around the world. The club targets a variety of issues including, but not limited to, gender equality, gender based violence, equal access to education, women in sports and much more. The GirlUp Campaign provides opportunities for leadership development which allow girls to develop valuable skills in communication, community organization, advocacy, and goal setting among other skills.
