Girls PACT Information

As a youth-focused organization, it's important to stay current on the latest trends and activities of those we serve. In consideration of new research and the scope of relationships in existence, we are changing with the times: We've modernized our mission. Unintended pregnancy is rapidly declining, which is great; Low self-worth is swiftly increasing, which is not so great. Our adapted mission tackles modern challenges: To awaken the power of self-worth and cultivate lifelong tools to strengthen relationships, online and in real life. Our vision is for ALL young people ages 16-24 to have a sense of agency over their intimate relationships. We've modernized our name. We are Girls PACT, doing business as PACT. Our curriculum topics and activities have always been inclusive; now, our working name, is too! These small changes empower us to expand our influence. Using PACT give us the freedom to create more safe spaces for people to learn and grow. Why should Girls have all the fun?! Today's young people are faced with more challenges than those of generations before, courtesy of social media. Studies show that technology is having emotional implications that have long-term effects. The excessive media consumption is linked to less happiness, less social skills, less sense of community (FOMO is Real!), and less mental stability. All of these issues intersect and contribute to low self-worth, which directly impacts positive relationships with others. PACT helps young adults recognize the power of self-worth and its significance in maintaining healthy relationships. We promise young people ages 16-24 a BOLD lifestyle. For us, such a daring, brave and fearless way of life means having the confidence and people skills to command and manage equal partnerships. We believe that by honoring ourselves – our bodies, our values, our voice - we can build happy, healthy and fulfilling relationships in our community.
