GingerCloud Foundation: Celebrating Greatness in Every Child The GingerCloud Foundation was founded by Megan and Anthony Elliott in January 2014, born from a deeply personal question: where would their son Max, who learns and perceives the world differently, "do life" when his parents were no longer there to help him? That question became a mission — to empower, engage and equip families whose children learn and perceive differently to take ownership of their child's developmental pathway, in a community where children and families can grow and thrive together. Our best-known program is the Modified Rugby Program (MRP) — and it began with Max. Built with Brothers Rugby Union Club, the ARU, the QRU and speech pathologist David Martin, the MRP is a touch-only form of rugby where every child plays with their own PlayerMentor beside them. From an 18-player pilot in 2014, it grew to 335 participants across 32 teams in 13 clubs, carried by Ambassadors Nathan Sharpe, Tim Horan AM, Stephen Moore and Andrew Ready. In 2026 we handed stewardship to Rugby Australia; from the 2027 season, the MRP is proudly run by them. The MRP showed what's possible when a community decides to include everyone — thinking that ran through everything we did, including the Disability Inclusion Leaders Program, the Player2PlayerMentor pathway, a Work Experience Program, and our animation series on sportsmanship and inclusion. We are deeply grateful to our fellow directors — Juli Robertson, Trent Taylor and David Groth — and to every family, volunteer, partner and supporter who walked this road with us. With the MRP now in the hands of Rugby Australia, GingerCloud Foundation will close after the final season — not as an ending, but as a completion. We set out to move children off the sideline and into the main game, and to build something that would outlast us. That work now lives on — celebrating greatness in every child.
