It all began in 2009, in a tiny workshop in Hammersmith, London. Our Founders, Sam, Fairfax and Jared had an unwavering belief in things well made - the way they used to be, the way they should be. Their mission was simple - to bring a London Dry Gin of truly uncompromising quality and character back to the city where it first earned its name. Smooth enough for a Martini, bold enough for a G&T, our London Dry Gin is truly something to behold. Every bottle of Sipsmith is hand crafted in genuinely small batches. Every drop of every batch is lovingly laboured over by hand, by our dedicated Distillers. No regimented timings, no automatic cuts, just a craftsman’s flair and a passion for gin well made. We believe this is the only way to craft spirits of this quality. We have since added to our collection a selection of our talented distillers' most delicious experimental gins, all inspired by our London Dry recipe, such as our Lemon Drizzle Gin and Sloe Gin. Each hand crafted gin is lovingly laboured in small batches in our London Distillery – the way it used to be, the way we believe it should be.

Eden Mill is a contemporary gin and whisky brand from St Andrews in Fife, Scotland. The construction of an iconic new distillery on the banks of the Eden Estuary is currently underway and will be ready to welcome visitors again in early 2024. Prior to the founding of Eden Mill in 2012, the town of St Andrews had not had a distillery since the Haig distillery closed in the 19th century. Eden Mill became the town’s first distillery in 150 years and after a successful decade, our aim is to continue to produce premium craft gin whilst continuing to develop our single malt scotch whisky portfolio. As such, one might say we have a pioneering spirit although that’s not entirely accurate. You see, while the traditional meaning of pioneering spirit is a willingness to endure hardship in order to explore new places and try out new ways (which we do), we are, in many ways, far more inclined to apply our indomitable drive to revisit old places and return to old ways.

The story begins in 2006, when Alexander Stein, heir to a traditional brandy dynasty and former Nokia manager, discovered a curious gin recipe from the Black Forest. At the heart of it was the tale of Monty Collins, a British RAF officer who, after the war, settled in the Black Forest. Inspired by his time in Berlin and a monkey named Max, he began crafting a gin that blended British traditions with the natural bounty of the region. In 2008, Stein returned to Baden-Württemberg and founded Black Forest Distillers. His mission was to revive the spirit of Collins’ creation. Using 47 handpicked botanicals, soft spring water and traditional distilling methods, MONKEY 47 was born. The result is a gin of remarkable complexity and clarity, full of floral notes, fresh citrus, rich juniper and a touch of lingonberry. Bottled in vintage apothecary glass and sealed with care, it is a tribute to craft, curiosity and the wild charm of the Black Forest.
