GIIA (Guernsey International Insurance Association) Information

The purpose of the Guernsey International Insurance Association (GIIA) is to ensure that Guernsey remains Europe's leading offshore centre for insurance and alternative risk transfer. We ensure the voices of our members are heard by the local Government International bodies and regulators. A key part of our work is to monitor and influence the development of Guernsey's Insurance regulations to ensure the environment remains appropriate. Membership extends beyond insurers and insurance managers to those industries that support the insurance activities on the island. Currently our members include 54 captive insurance companies, 16 associated professional companies (accountants, lawyers, banks, investment professionals) 10 insurance management companies and 18 individual members (non-executive directors and consultants). Individual membership is available to anyone interested in the operation of the insurance industry in Guernsey and tends to be taken up by consultants and non executive directors.
