Georgetown Global Microfinance Initiative is a 501c3 nonprofit organization that aims to promote financial inclusion and access to microfinance in the developing world. GGMI seeks to bridge the gap between academia and fieldwork by providing pro bono consultation services to Microfinance Institutions in developing countries. As a group of Georgetown students in Washington, D.C., GGMI hopes to assist MFI’s in their lending practices and reach in order to help alleviate poverty. By creating project-specific proposals, GGMI will work with each institution to develop a sustainable means for increasing their micro-lending reach. With projects from Argentina to India, GGMI is constantly looking for new clients to work with and new projects that will help to empower underserved communities in the developing world.
