Following the original development of laser wire stripping by NASA in 1979, laser wire stripping was actually commercialised and developed further by Spectrum Technologies also. Spectrum has since become the world leader in the design and manufacture of specialised, laser-based industrial wire processing equipment for use in the manufacture of complex wire harnesses and wiring assemblies found in aerospace, defence, medical, rail, automotive, and other critical industries. Today the company employs around 75 staff worldwide with sales and service offices in Texas, USA and Shanghai, China, and have delivered systems to over 65 countries.
