The Academy Health Club & Spa opened in October 1994 and was sold to DLL in July 2017. We combined the finest facilities with friendly, qualified Health & Fitness advisors, ensuring the best results from your membership. We are proud to be the oldest, most established & experienced gym in Harrogate. Offering 5,000 square feet of interactive Technogym ARTIS fitness equipment to provide the ultimate workout in an inspiring and motivating environment, supported by our qualified personal trainers. We had 3 fitness studios & a functional training zone providing over 90 classes per week included in your membership! The Fitness Studio for high impact classes, Gallery Studio for Yoga & Pilates, Energy Studio for dedicated Spinning classes & OMNIA training zone for small group functional training. The Academy offered 4 indoor & 3 outdoor floodlit tennis courts with an extensive junior coaching programme from 3-year-olds upwards - as well as a full adult programme from beginners to advanced. Our team of professional coaches, all with extensive knowledge & coaching skills, were headed by tennis professional Chris Paraskos. Our pool facilities included an experience shower, sauna and steam room which, along with our spa pool, was the perfect way to unwind & relax after a swim in the 4-lane pool. There was a separate baby pool where parents & younger members enjoyed time together in the water. Academy Spa provided a large range of wellness, beauty and luxury treatments all under one roof. Also located within the health club, Academy Childcare offered safe hands in which to leave young children. Staffed by qualified childcare practitioners, our childcare facilities had separate play areas for babies, toddlers and young children. We also had a dedicated children's party zone, Treasure Island. Complimentary towels, spacious changing rooms, ample parking & cafe bar are other bonuses.
