"Growing up in Roosevelt, Long Island, New York, I noticed how my people, myself included, suffered from a lack of nutrition. The food deserts in NY are something atrocious. There are liquor stores, smoke shops, corner stores on almost every block. Traveling, I picked up how it wasn’t just my community, but many other areas contaminated with the same tension. I knew I had to make it a personal mission to change my environment. In my undergraduate experience, I studied environmental engineering at Florida A&M University (FAMU) because innately I love my sciences/mathematics and sustainability drives me to want to better myself. What I find most interesting with this combination of interest is how I’m moved to help assist in the betterment of our waterbodies. I’m talking lakes, ponds, water treatment systems and us humans for we are majority water ourselves. Being of Jamaican descent I am privy to certain foods/drinks. Out of the mighty waters, there is a valuable superfood known as Wildcrafted Sea Moss. Its jam-packed with minerals and nutrition and helps the body rid of the acidic mess we take in. I aim to assist in the treatment of the community at large with my GELANI Sea Moss Gel products. To detox and set boundaries of peace. To focus and concentrate on dispensing our energy efficiently. To heal ourselves from the toxic media we are fed and give praise & reverence to the source from which we forward from.
