In 1989, Sound Venture focused on a new and bigger challenge, to compete in the international world of television production. The purchase of a complete video post-production facility got the ball rolling as Sound Venture set its sights on becoming a player in the complex and competitive TV industry. Building on a string of critical successes, Sound Venture established a reputation for excellence, building a library of over 200 hours of documentary, arts, culture and children's programming now seen around the world. Sound Venture also operates one of Ottawa's largest post-production facilities, providing all the video editing and audio post-production services to its own programs as well as to a select group of animation and film producers. International distribution and sales is handled in-house by Sound Venture International. In the past few years, Sound Venture has expanded into the world of film and television drama production, partnering and co-producing with some of the most prestigious production firms in Canada. Sound Venture is an active member of the Canadian Film and Television Production Association (CFTPA), working with industry and government leaders to ensure that a stable funding and working environment is available to producers across Canada.
