Gearbox Information

Gearbox is an initiative that aims at improving the ecosystem for hardware entrepreneurship by providing flexible working space, shared prototyping facilities, training in manufacturing, fabrication and design as well as mentorship, availing of investment opportunities, incubation and acceleration, and community development. We have several services we offer; 1. Membership model (access to our machines through a system analogous to gym membership) 2. Gearbox Academy (highly hands-on, intensive short courses on Industry 4.0 technologies) 3. Business incubation and acceleration (through partners the Africa Innovation Ecosystems Group) 4. Contracting (for those that don’t want to make things for themselves) 5. Co-location (sub-letting of space to hardware innovators) 6. Monitoring and Evaluation
