GB-Commtrade Pty Ltd was established in June 1999 by Gerard Brunton and Hilton Lobb who between them had over 50 years experience in the edible nut & dried fruit industry. The GB-Commtrade team are well known in the Industry and have a record for reliability, integrity and confidentiality. From its formation, the Company has steadily grown and has become one of the major companies specialising in nuts, dried fruits and related products. GB-Commtrade is a sales and marketing company, an exporter, importer, distributor, and a representative agent for several significant international and Australian nut and fruit producers. With their head office based in Lane Cove, Sydney and an office in Melbourne, GB-Commtrade covers all market sectors within Australia and is very active in international markets. GB-Commtrade has long-established relationships with the leading suppliers for each of the products they trade and continually reviews the ability of their suppliers to maintain and improve their competitiveness and quality standards. GB-Commtrade is HACCP certified and is committed to supplying products produced to world's-best-standards from approved suppliers with ISO, HACCP and BRC quality systems in place. The Company is client-focused and has a co-operative approach, having already built a number of preferred supplier alliances with companies in the market sectors served. GB-Commtrade's role is one of a traditional merchant supplying the snackfood, wholesale, processing, confectionery, food service, bakery and health food markets. GB-Commtrade is a member of the International Nut Council, the Food & Beverage Importer's Association, the Australian Macadamia Society, founding member of the Australian Cashew Association and a member of the management committee and a contributor to the Australian Tree Nut Industry's "Nuts for Life" program.
