With nearly 200,000 members in total, the United Federation of Teachers is a powerful advocate for public education and working families in New York City. We represent some 110,00 public school teachers, paraprofessionals and other school staff who dedicate their lives to the city's children. Private sector nurses, administrative law judges and family childcare providers also belong to our union.
