Producten zijn tegenwoordig niet alleen maar bestemd voor minder welvarende landen getuige de zeer grote vraag naar refurbished producten in eigen land. Het stimuleren van hergebruik van producten voldoet ook aan de regelgeving die de Europese Commissie heeft beschreven in de WEEE directieve. Ecowave heeft in de Benelux een samenwerking met meer dan 600 winkels en is partner van diverse operators en fabrikanten. Tevens wordt Ecowave officieel erkend door het Nederlandse ministerie van VROM met een registratie op de VIHB-lijst onder nummer LI512122VIHX en in België bij de OVAM onder nummer 82912.
