FX Networks Information

FX Networks owns and operates an inter-city fibre optic network spanning from Dunedin in the South to Whangarei in the North. We have been building this network using our own Construction crews at the rate of around 2 Km’s per working day and while still expanding, is currently around 4,200Kms. We provide high speed Wide Area Network and ISP services to Government, Major Enterprises, Datacentres, Data Aggregators and Internet Service Providers. We have always enjoyed a reputation for innovation and currently we are deploying what we consider to be the world’s leading Optical Transport Network (OTN) platform – Infinera. Our Infinera OTN features N x 500 Gbps Superchannels and up to 8 Tbps of capacity per pair of fibre. Our strategy has always been to carry data between cities on our own network (Backhaul) and integrate third party access services for last mile connectivity (Access).
