BirdLife Australia is Australia’s largest bird conservation organisation and is dedicated to stopping bird extinctions. With our specialised knowledge and the support of a nationwide network of volunteers and supporters, we combine the best of conservation practice and rigorous scientific data and research to protect Australia’s birds and their habitats. We work locally, nationally and globally to drive the recovery of threatened bird populations, restore nature and prevent bird extinctions. When we protect birds, we’re protecting nature too – which we all depend on. To save birds is to save life. Our bold new Bird Conservation Strategy is the blueprint to saving Australia’s birds. Now, our mission is guided by strong, ambitious targets – to stop the extinction of birds by 2030, improve the status of 30% of threatened birds by 2030 and halt overall bird population declines by 2050.

We’re the Australian Conservation Foundation, Australia’s national environment organisation. Since 1965, we’ve protected the nature we all love – our unique wildlife and our beautiful beaches and bush. Driven by the power of people, we won World Heritage listing for the Great Barrier Reef and Kakadu National Park, and returned precious water to the rivers of the Murray-Darling. We influence governments and businesses to protect the animals, rivers and reefs close to our hearts and hold decision-makers to account without fear or favour. Everything we do is evidence-based and helps nature and people thrive for generations to come. We won’t give up until Australia’s nature is protected and regenerated. Nature needs us, now. Friends of the Earth Australia (FoEA) believes that social and environmental issues cannot be separated from each other. As a result, FoEA is a social and environmental justice organisation. We seek to work toward a sustainable and equitable future, and to operate in a way that empowers individuals and communities. This means that all members of FoEA operates on a collective basis, and utilises the consensus decision-making model to work towards the aims and objectives of the federation, and remain independent of any political parties and economic interests.
