Future Plans is a nonprofit committed to ending poverty one individual at a time. Through a proven, data-driven model, we help individuals discover their strengths, launch meaningful careers, and build lives of lasting stability and purpose. Our 5-step model — Assess, Coach, Discover, Prepare, Place — has reached 36,000+ individuals across Appalachian and rural communities through career assessment, coaching, and workforce training. Employment outcomes consistently run 14–26% above state averages, and our model generates a 552%+ return on investment tied to living-wage job placement. We work at the intersection of workforce development, economic mobility, and community-based systems change — aligning individuals, employers, and local systems to create clearer, more accessible pathways to opportunity. Future Plans also develops community-rooted social enterprises — from Dragonfly Village, a 99-acre community campus in Brown County, Ohio, to an emerging garment ecosystem across Appalachia — building the infrastructure that makes long-term prosperity possible.
