Future Sensitive, Inc Information

Future Sensitive is an institute for introspective worldbuilding at the frontier of body futurism and post-nature. It rehearses the futures being built on the human body, so we choose what we become. The institute turns complex science into embodied experiences individuals, institutions, and industries can enter and argue with, then builds the frameworks that come out of the debate. Films, garments, machines, installations. A film moves you through a proposition and releases you. An object lets you return to it. Nothing can be un-invented, so the choosing has to happen in public. Future Sensitive is the practice of Lucy McRae, artist, body architect, and filmmaker, and a constellation of scientists, artists, designers, and next generation educators. The institute consults on major science fiction productions including Blade Runner 2099, and works with brands, institutions, and writers' rooms. Clients include Chanel, Adobe, Adidas, and MIT. Two decades of work held in the permanent collection of SFMOMA and exhibited at Centre Pompidou, Venice Biennale, MAXXI Rome, and MMCA Seoul.
