Fu-Tai was founded in 1976 by the local cadre of former China Fluor Engineering & Construction Co., Ltd., then a subsidiary of Fluor Corporation, USA, upon its divestiture of operation in Taiwan. The mission of Fu-Tai was to provide seamless continual service to the Fluor's established local clientele. Thanks to Mr. Y. C. Wang, Founder of Formosa Plastics Group, a prestigious and eminent entrepreneur, who not only invested fund in but also instilled the philosophy of questing for efficiency and cost rationalization into business operation through his 8 years tenure as Chairman of Fu-Tai since company's incorporation, paved a solid foundation for Fu-Tai's growth
