OUR STORY Our passion for design has brought a natural elegance to New Zealand homes and fashion since 1939. When Arnold Heath began supplying New Zealand’s furriers with fur skins in 1939, he could not have foreseen how business and fashion styles would develop but his company knew about providing the best quality furs and hides. In 1963, the business was handed over to the second generation. Renamed as Heath Furs & Textiles Ltd, they followed the same path adding imitation fur, suede and plush fabrics for clothing manufacturers, dress stores and handicraft retailers. The emphasis turned towards the soft furnishings market in 1981 as the third generation began to take the reins. Furtex is now one of the most celebrated importers, designers and wholesalers of textiles, fur fabrics, and soft furnishings, still owned and managed by the fourth generation of the family.
