FUNDCLASS Information

Created in 2006 and based in Paris, FundClass is an independent European fund rating agency. Wholly owned by individuals, we act as financial consultants to provide data, analysis and advisory services to asset managers, multi-managers, investors, consulting firms or independent fund administrators. We analyze, upon request, all types of management mandates and work closely with actuaries who serve industries and institutions to assess the management of their regulated provisions. FundClass organizes a yearly ceremony, the European Funds Trophy, that rewards the best European funds and management companies. Every quarter, we scan the entire European, American and Asian fund markets in order to produce a behavioral analysis of a fund by comparing it to its competitors in the same risk class. The FUNDCLASS analysis process consists of four main steps: - Calculation: using APT, we calculate the risk profile of each fund. - Classify: we create groups of funds with a similar risk profile. - Ranking: we identify the best risk/return ratio within the same peer group. - Ranking: we regularly identify the best performing funds among competitors over several periods of time. Thanks to this exhaustive analysis of the fund market, we evaluate the overall fund range of each European asset manager and provide a quantitative rating for each of them. From the outset, FUNDCLASS has adopted a clear business model where the rating is paid for by investors rather than by the funds or asset managers.
