Fultek Information

Fultek, started in 1984, provides electronic design, manufacturing and consulting. We design and manufacture electronic devices for the motion picture and television industry. Additionally, we provide consulting services for studios regarding installation, layout of transfer channels, wiring, special projects, etc. Between us we have over 50 years of experience in the business. We have supplied most of the major studios in Hollywood with our equipment in addition to Skywalker Ranch, Zoetrope, and studios around the world. Over the years Jim has worked on many features from The Sound of Music, My Fair Lady, and Paint Your Wagon to E.T., Fox Fire, Dragon Heart, Lost World, and many others. Jim also was one of the original designers of Glen Glenn Sound's PAP system. Jim also designed a circuit which allowed an Ampex 350 to search for daily scenes via a generated time code from sync pulse. This was long before any of the newer tach controlled machines. Many studios still use the Fultek resolver which controls the speed of a tach driven mag machine to sync dailies, etc. Jim's experience in the motion picture sound business led to the development of many of our existing products. Karin's experience in over 40 feature film and countless TV shows doing Foley and ADR mixing has been a large benefit in design of the user interface for our products. Karin's technical and computer background has been extremely useful to Fultek. Karin did the board layout for all our early designs and most of our newer designs.
