FRND is India's first avatar-based audio/video social discovery platform that enables empathetic connections in Tier 2–4 towns and villages through an open social network. FRND is the marquee product of Interact Group. Designed for users aged 18–35, primarily from Tier 2–4 towns and beyond, FRND operates in ten Indic languages, including Hindi, Punjabi, Marathi, Bengali, Gujarati, Odia, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam. FRND was founded in 2019 by two IIT Kanpur alumni, Bhanu Pratap Singh Tanwar and Harshvardhan Chhangani. Their vision is to create a world without loneliness for the next billion users, where meaningful conversations are always within reach. TRUST & PRIVACY Users go through identity verification before connecting, and the platform provides community reporting tools and clear safety guidelines. ABOUT INTERACT GROUP FRND is built by Interact Group, a homegrown technology company building an interaction entertainment portfolio at the intersection of social discovery, social gaming, voice, video, and AI for the next billion users. The company also has Playchat under this portfolio, a multilingual AI native social gaming app. FRND raised a Series A round of $6.5M in December 2021.
