The purpose of the Friends of the Boise Public Library is to promote the library and to provide financial support for library collections and programs. We are an advocate for reading and literacy in our community. We also provide an agency for the acceptance of gifts from persons interested in supporting the goals of the Friends and the library. Since 1970, the Friends of the Boise Public Library has enthusiastically promoted the library, contributing to branches, collections, services, and programs. To celebrate our 50th anniversary, the Friends has set a Golden Goal of contributing $1,000,000 in 2020 toward the development of the new Main Library.
