The Friendly Sons of Saint Patrick is a registered non-profit organization dedicated to promoting an increased awareness of the cultural achievements of the Irish people. This fraternal association is located in the City of New Bedford, Massachusetts. In addition to our stated goal the club forms a thriving, community oriented group sponsoring more than a dozen scholarships annually, totaling over $20,000 in 2015. These scholarships are awarded, based on academic merit and need, to deserving local students, regardless of their heritage. Food and toy distribution at holiday times, blood drives, golf tournaments, the management of the famed New Bedford Half-Marathon and a smartly uniformed presence at parades and festivals, are among the many other socially conscious activities undertaken by the association. Although there is a membership restriction and a waiting list for admission, the Friendly Sons of Saint Patrick offers inclusion in a warm and companionable fraternity of like-minded men of good will.
