Freeman's Mill Information

At Freeman's Mill , we use only the finest, Food Grade Quality and Inspected, Yellow and White Corn and Soft, Red Winter Wheat to grind our delicious products with. Our Grits, Corn Meal, and Whole Wheat Flour are Stone Ground from Whole Grains (not De-Germinated, Enriched, or Fortified) on our 100+ year old granite mills. We use one set of stones only for corn products and another set of stones for the Flour Products to prevent cross contamination between wheat and corn. One of the mills is a 46" R. D. Cole flat rock mill and the other is a 24" Davis vertical mill; both mills were built in Georgia. We also have a fully operational 100 year old Midget Marvel 50 Barrel Mill . ur mill can be powered by a Continental 1 Cylinder Cotton Gin Engine that dates to the 1930's and weighs in excess of 10 tons or an Atlas Steam Engine; but during normal operation we operate the line shafts and machinery by old electric motors. Our mill is located in Bulloch County, Georgia between Statesboro and Register. Visitors are welcome, but call ahead! The highest quality of our product is of chief concern to us. Our mill, the grains we grind, and products are licensed and regularly inspected by the Georgia Department of Agriculture. We are very proud of the Vintage Machinery that we use to produce our products with and are members of Georgia Grown, The Society For The Preservation of Old Mills (SPOOM), and The Bulloch County Historical Society. Our family has very deep roots in Southeast Georgia that go back to the Georgia Colonial days and through those years, there have been many of our ancestors who have been Millers. We are thankful to be able to continue those traditions and offer our products to you, our valued customers and friends.
