Fred's Liquor was originally located at 1901 Youngfield St in the Applewood Grove Shopping center in the 1960's and was founded by Fred Sylvester. If you grew up in Applewood as I did, you would remember that this shopping center also housed a Safeway Store, the Jefferson County Library and you would have bowled at Applewood lanes. Freds Liquor moved to its current location at 1895 Youngfield March 2, 2001 and was then owned by Rajeev Jerath. The property became available in October 2012 at which time my wife and I thought it would be great to keep the legacy of Fred's Liquor going. After all it is the neighborhood Liquor store and we have lived in and raised our kids in this neighborhood for many years.
