FREA Information

The real estate industry is always changing. Home prices fluctuate, inventory shifts and laws affecting real estate professionals are updated all the time. Among all of this change, there is one constant -- and that is risk. While risk is unavoidable for appraisers, inspectors and other real estate professionals, it can be minimized through access to education, resources and people with the knowledge and experience needed to answer your questions. When you become a member of FREA (The Foundation of Real Estate Associates), you are able minimize risk as well as the significant costs associated with claims. FREA was founded in 1991 to fill a gap in the market. At that time, continuing education for real estate appraisers was extremely expensive and difficult to find. FREA began offering continuing education classes in the San Diego area first. Within a few short months we had more than 150 instructors teaching classes all over the country. In the 22 years since opening our doors, we have served appraisers, inspectors and other real estate professionals from all over the United States and Canada by offering risk management tools and educational opportunities that give you the answers you need to make sound business decisions. Today, with nearly 10,000 members, FREA is the largest professional organization for appraisers and home inspectors in the country.
