Andrei Zerebecky and Lukasz Kos are the creative directors of FOUR O NINE. The duo brings together a sensibility that explores the boundaries between the prosaic and poetic. Their studio-based approach produces conceptually rigorous products and spaces which integrate structure and abstract forms while embracing the play of light, human interaction and tactility. Shortly after forming FOUR O NINE in 2011, they completed a storefront for contemporary furniture, nominated as one of Shanghai’s top retail spaces by Surface Asia . Their first line of furniture debuted in late 2011 and earned numerous accolades including 2012's 40 Under 40 Award from Perspective Magazine in Hong Kong and a Gold for Design Innovation at IIDEX 2013 from the Interior Designers of Canada. They are currently working on architectural commissions in Asia as well as developing a new line of custom furniture pieces for a luxury hotel chain in South East Asia. Zerebecky and Kos are both graduates from the University of Toronto’s Faculty of Architecture, Landscape and Design Master’s program and both worked for Bruce Mau Design in Toronto. Prior to forming FOUR O NINE, Kos was an architect at the renowned studio of Frank Gehry in Los Angeles, while Zerebecky established and directed a branch office for B+H Architects in Vietnam.
