Shortly thereafter, the station was declared prohibitively expensive, and our investment was put in jeopardy. We applied the lessons we had learned during the turmoil of the Recession, partnered with the City of Louisville and formed an Urban Renewal District (URD). The URD helped us secure the $12,000,000 of infrastructure now in place at the 14-acre DeLo site. This represented a major undertaking and achievement both for us and the City of Louisville, a city that stubbornly constrains its housing market to manage its population: we have been the only major exception to this tendency.
