Foundation Clusters & Competitiveness Information

We are an independent, non-profit organisation and training academy established in Barcelona, Catalonia, in 2003, with significant support from the Government of Catalonia, Vinnova (the Swedish Innovation Agency), and Yorkshire Forward (the former UK Regional Development Agency). Our mission is to deliver international training in value chain development and cluster excellence for policymakers, economic development professionals and cluster practitioners. We also act as a neutral third party, coordinating the delivery of Cluster Excellence Management courses developed under the European Cluster Excellence Initiative (ECEI). We are an autonomous organisation governed by an independent Board of Trustees. We operate under the Catalan Civil Code governing non-profit foundations and are supervised by the Protectorate of Foundations of Catalonia.
