I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Certified Hypnotherapist and have been working in the field of therapy since 1999. I have worked with children, adolescents, and adults up to age 80, across a wide range of socio-economic strata. I have helped people with a variety of challenges from depression, anxiety, phobias, behavioral issues, addictions, severe mental illness, and developmentally disabilities, as well as having extensive experience and training working with families. My work with clients is individualized, never cookie-cutter or one-size-fits-all. I respect and work within the context of the individuality of my client’s experiences, outlook, thought-processes, emotional triggers, values, and goals. In the first visit, I work to get a clear picture of my client’s issues, needs, strengths, and weaknesses. I look for relational, situational, as well as internal, influences affecting the client. I tend to see my clients as complex individuals rather than simplified, textbook diagnoses. I use a genuine, compassionate, eclectic, clinical approach in helping the client according to their individual needs and motivations, focusing towards solutions. My experience as an immigrant, raised in this country from early youth, has also given me insight into the complexities inherent in a multi-cultural existence and has made me more aware of diversity challenges in this society.
