Forge is building fully autonomous factory modules by shipping intermediary deliverables. Packaging manufacturing processes into shipping-container-sized modules that connect like LEGO bricks, enabling factories to scale without being constrained by labor availability. Forge is currently focused on contract manufacturing for aerospace and hardware startups, supporting teams that require high-precision production but face scaling constraints. In parallel, we are investing heavily in R&D around laser welding, a key enabling technology for automated, high-performance manufacturing. Laser welding is a natural starting point because welding is often the bottleneck in production lines, manual processes like TIG are significantly slower than upstream automated steps, such as cutting or stamping. Laser welding addresses this directly: it is typically 2–10× faster, produces minimal distortion due to a small heat-affected zone, and requires little to no post-processing. This makes it highly compatible with automation and ideal for consistent, high-throughput production. This work will culminate in the first Forge Module: a laser welding unit designed as a foundational building block for modular, scalable factories that overcome labour shortages rather than replacing jobs.
