Footsteps Information

Amidst all the advancements of the 21st century, we still swear by these words once spoken by Nelson Mandela: “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world”. Education has been and will always remain the concrete bridge that connects our present with the unforeseen future. Each one today pursues his/her stream of own choice. These students, graduating in this decade, will be retiring from their professional life in about the 2060’s. However, there lies an unpredictable gap of progress and requirement within this modest time frame and we aren’t sure that everyone will be able to evolve their current academic standing to suit the unforeseen requirements of the future! As we know, there was no public education system before the 19th century and the system that came into being was primarily to meet the needs of industrialisation. Therefore, an education system is loosely based on the concept of academic ability. In recent times, there has been a wave of academic inflation in the world due to which the same job role that required a bachelor’s degree 10 years ago now mandates a master’s degree, so on and so forth. It indicates that the whole structure of education is going to shift beneath our feet without giving us the opportunity to stabilise. How, then, do we embrace this paradigm shift? “Footsteps” as a social venture is prepared to educate the today’s youth about this important transition while highlighting ways to enjoy education so that they can foresee the future and make something meaningful out of it.
