The Office of Volunteer Services is committed to ensuring that our volunteers have a positive and rewarding experience during their time with us. We provide Children’s Aid programs and staff with access to dedicated individuals looking to donate a portion of their time working directly with and on behalf of our children and families.

Safe Haven Family Shelter empowers Middle Tennessee homeless families with children to achieve lasting self-sufficiency. For over 30 years, Safe Haven has served as the only shelter-to-housing program in Middle Tennessee that accommodates homeless families. Families receive comprehensive services that empower them to achieve lasting self-sufficiency. Safe Haven’s approach is one of service, compassion, trauma-informed care and evidence-based practices.

The Stepping Stones Foundation preserves the historic home and archives of Bill and Lois Wilson, co-founders, respectively, of Alcoholics Anonymous and Al-Anon Family Groups, and commemorates their achievements in the field of recovery from alcoholism. The Foundation, created by Lois Wilson in 1979, maintains the historic home and its contents, the writing studio, archives, gardens, and grounds, and offers guided tours by reservation. Stepping Stones is a non-profit, tax-exempt and privately-run historic site. It received the honor of being designated as a National Historic Landmark in 2012 by the U.S. Department of Interior.
