Foghound Studios Information

Foghound Studios’ began its operations under the name Bruce Quayle & Associates over 20 years ago and quickly established itself as an innovative company in retail commercial production. Working on the giant Hyperama account, Foghound developed and produced the hugely successful “Heydeys” and “Pricebusters” campaigns. Foghound was the first company to produce “live” television commercials, working out of Toron Television (now ZSE-TV). In 1996 the company built the present-day studio and editing complex in Midrand, Johannesburg. The benefits of owning their own facilities were twofold. Firstly, tight deadlines and last minute changes could be more easily accommodated and secondly, cost savings could be passed on to client, making the Foghound offering more competitive then ever before. It was during those early days in the new complex that agreement was reached on a new name and Foghound Studios came into being with the defining logo of the lighthouse. With its roots firmly grounded in retail production, Foghound’s solid foundation had become the rock upon which the lighthouse would stand; its light reaching outwards towards more challenges.
