FM BENCHMARKING, the leading global online benchmarking company, not only compares your building's metrics to those of other similar buildings, but identifies best practices being followed by similar buildings that are outperforming yours. The median client using this methodology for one year has reduced its energy consumption by 8% and operating expenses by 6% after one year (40% and 31%, respectively, after ten years). "FMB" tracks operating expenses (utilities, maintenance, janitorial, security), and sustainability measures, including building carbon footprint and greenhouse gas emissions (Scopes 1 and 2).
