We enthusiastically seek to combine the beer-styles and flavors of our past with modern ingredients and processes. Our inspiration starts with the malt libations enjoyed by early aviation pioneers, like pilots Tony and Roger Jannus, in the heady year of 1914 after flying passenger and cargo across Tampa Bay, or ending a long day rebuilding a cantankerous Roberts’ engine in the Florida sunshine. Combining Prohibition-style and historical notion, with new flavors and local ingredients, the Flying Boat Brewing Company focuses on creating new and unique variations based on pre-prohibition styles, for a contemporary beer audience. It is the company’s purpose to bridge the old with the new; to reintroduce Tampa Bay and the world to a little slice of history through hand-crafted beer inspired by the people, events, and places of the era.
