We're Waterloo Region's first dedicated Float Centre with multiple float tanks. We're here to help you explore the wonderful benefits of float tanks (also known as sensory deprivation tanks). Float tanks are filled with 10 inches of water that is supersaturated with 950lb of epsom salts, forcing you to float. That water is heated to your skin's temperature, so that after 10 minutes, your skin's nerve endings can no longer distinguish between your body, the air, and the water. You have been deprived of your sense of touch. By floating in the dark in a soundproof room, you are also deprived of senses of sight and sound. That is when the magic happens. Now, away from your usual noisy world, your brain slows down to a Theta brainwave state. You are now extremely relaxed in your quiet world but, at the same time, you are intensely awake. For The Professional, floating powerfully decreases your cortisol levels while also releasing endorphins. So chronic stress seeps away and you relax your way into a rejuvenated level of well-being.
