In August 2025, Recharge became part of Coda and, from December 2025, the organisation has operated under the Coda corporate brand.
Founded in 2010 and headquartered in Amsterdam, Recharge grew from a small startup into Europe’s leading digital prepaid payments platform. Across its digital storefronts, including Recharge.com and Startselect, the company connected millions of customers to more than 16,000 prepaid products, including gaming credit, gift cards, mobile top-ups and prepaid money cards.
Over its 15-year journey, Recharge developed deep expertise in digital distribution and payments. It partnered with many of the world’s strongest brands such as Apple, Google, Vodafone and PlayStation, and became a trusted destination for simple, secure and accessible prepaid purchases across more than 180 markets.
Recharge also expanded into B2B through Giftcloud, enabling businesses to run digital reward, loyalty and incentive programmes powered by instant and data-driven prepaid products.
These foundations now live on within Coda as part of its mission to power the future of digital commerce by connecting payments, people and digital products around the world.
