After spending many of my summers traveling and looking for yachts to sail with, I became frustrated with the options available for finding skippers in need of crew members. So, I decided to create the resource I needed myself. I wanted to make a website that was community-based, a safe place for people to meet, free and easy to use. So, I approached the owner of a website I had used over the years that I knew I could build and improve upon. I acquired the domain name Floatplan.com in April this year, and since then I have turned the website into a fast growing online community for sailors around the world currently with 6500+ members, and seeing around 10 – 20 new members join everyday.
