Launched in 2002 by Shaun Neff in Southern California, Neff was the first authentic core snow and skate headwear company in the world. Neff is an active youth accessory brand supported by some of the globe's biggest actions sports athletes and key personalities in music and sports. Neff World Headquarters is located in Camarillo, California and is internationally sold in 45+ countries to select action sports retailers. Neff is all about having fun and bringing new vibes to the world. “We are like a gumball machine; spitting out endless flavors for the world to consume,” stated Shaun Neff when asked to describe Neff Headwear. We are not confined to one specific category; we are defined by reaching across multiple platforms like sports, fashion and entertainment.
Today, Neff is reaching further into the world of active fashion with the introduction of its Neff Vision and Neff Time lines, which are unique collections of stylish higher end sunglasses and watches. Collaborations with household names such as Snoop Dogg, Deadmau5, Wiz Khalifa, Richard Sherman, Mac Miller, Jordy Smith, Kolohe Andino, Sage Kotsengburg, Leo Romero, Kate Upton and their yearly charity initiative, "Neff Hope," ensure that Neff maintains its pattern of constant growth and innovation.
The Idea began in 2001 when a group of friends in Hagerstown, Maryland decided we were tired of paying good money for junk longboards. After a little research, we started cutting out boards in Ryan's family's barn. Michael tagged up the first board for his cousin Lindsey as a "going away to college" gift and the train started rolling. A few weeks later Mike busted his lip open during a session and on the way to hospital painfully uttered the resulting epiphany, "we should call them Bustin Boards". That summer we made a handful of boards here and there, but spent most of our time bombing hills. Each board we made was new, different and better than the last. We knew immediately what our goal was to be.
Before long our little barn shop became a hub for our ideas and a place to bring them to life. Design, Build, Ride - it was our mission in life and the designs evolved quickly. Before long we were laminating our own boards and producing wild, original shapes. By 2004 we were beginning to see past our humble barn shop. We began planning for a move to New York City and later that year made the jump the big apple. After spending a year crammed tiny Greenwich Village shop, we stumbled across our dream space; a 5,000 sq. foot warehouse loft in Hoboken formerly known as the original WonderBread factory.
Today we make and ship all of the boards by hand from the Bustin loft. 2008 was our biggest year so far with boards in more than 30 countries worldwide and solid feedback coming from all angles. In 2009, we continue to stick to the original vision; printing each board by hand based on the customer's personal style.
